Next Step Housing & Support Services

A Program Built for Recovery.

Structure, accountability, and community — the three pillars that make sobriety sustainable.

How it works

More than a place to stay.

At Next Step Housing, we believe recovery requires more than just a sober environment. It requires structure, purpose, and people who hold you accountable. Our program combines safe housing with the proven framework of the 12-step model to give residents the best possible foundation for lasting change.

Every resident who joins our program makes a commitment — to themselves, to their housemates, and to the process. In return, we provide the structure and support to make that commitment stick.

The 12-step program

A proven path forward.

The 12-step model has helped millions of people achieve and maintain sobriety. Our program is built around its principles — honesty, accountability, service, and community. Residents are expected to actively work the steps, maintain a sponsor relationship, and attend regular meetings.

Regular Meeting Attendance

Residents attend 12-step meetings as part of their weekly structure. Meetings are a non-negotiable part of the program.

Sponsor Relationship

Every resident is expected to have or actively seek a sponsor — someone further along in recovery who provides guidance and accountability.

Step Work

Active engagement with the 12 steps is required. Residents work through the steps with their sponsor and share progress with house staff.

Service & Fellowship

Giving back is part of recovery. Residents are encouraged to take on service commitments and build connections within the broader recovery community.

House rules

Structure that protects everyone.

Our house rules exist to protect the safety and sobriety of every resident. They are non-negotiable and apply equally to everyone in the house.

  • Zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs on the premises
  • Mandatory curfew — residents must be home by a set time each night
  • Weekly house meetings are required for all residents
  • Residents must maintain employment, schooling, or an active job search
  • Chores and shared responsibilities are assigned and expected
  • Guests must be approved in advance by house management
  • Respect for fellow residents and staff at all times

Daily structure

A day in the life.

Structure is one of the most powerful tools in early recovery. Our daily schedule gives residents a framework that reduces idle time, builds healthy habits, and creates a sense of purpose.

Morning

Wake up, personal responsibilities, and morning reflection or meditation. Residents are expected to start the day with intention.

Daytime

Work, school, job searching, or approved programming. Residents are not permitted to stay home without a valid reason.

Evening

12-step meetings, step work, or house activities. Evenings are structured around recovery-focused engagement.

Night

Curfew is enforced. Residents are home, winding down, and preparing for the next day.
